The first single from Prevail I 'TriggerPulse' was released early to coincide with a fall European tour with Delain and Evergrey and will be the first song by Kobra and the Lotus to gain over 1 million plays on Spotify. Prevail I and Prevail II will be released separately in 2017. The new double album was picked up by Napalm Records with Managing Director Thomas Caser stating that Kobra and the Lotus was "one of the most exciting new bands in this (hard rock) genre”. In 2017 the band set out to record a double album and launched a successful pledge campaign with producer Jacob Hansen in Denmark. Kobra and the Lotus put the initial studio tracks on MySpace in summer 2009 and were approached by Metal Hammer to include Kobra Paige in the 2010 Metal Hammer Maidens of Metal Calendar with Simone Simons, Epica and Cristina Scabbia, Lacuna Coil. The trio added drummer Griffin Kissack midway through recording Out of the Pit. The trio started recording their first songs in Calgary, initially produced by transplanted Toronto musician Greg Godovitz (Goddo). In late 2008, Kobra and the Lotus was formed by classical singer Brittany Paige and guitarists Matt Van Wezel and Chris Swenson. The musical style is often compared to classic NWOBHM, Iron Maiden, Dio, and early Metallica or Iced Earth. Kobra and the Lotus is a female fronted heavy metal band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
